D23 ROUND-UP: What we missed! Star Wars! Marvel! Disney World! Black Panther! And more!

How cool is that D23 Exclusive Thor V Hulk Ragnarok art?

One of the biggest things everyone was talking about from day one of D23 Expo, was the reveal of Edge of the Galaxy, the Disney World Star Wars Land.

And it’s pretty obvious why. This area of the Disney experience is going to be massive!

According to the official D23 site: Han Solo’s beloved Millennium Falcon is still “the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy” and one of the most iconic ships in cinematic history. And in 2019, the “ship that made the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs” throws open its bay doors, finally giving fans a chance to step aboard. You will be able to get an up-close look inside the ship that Princess Leia famously proclaimed a “bucket of bolts” when Disney opens two 14-acre Star Wars-themed lands—one at Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California, and the other at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida.

Here’s Disney’s tribute to Marvel artist/legend Jack Kirby:

Also, check out Stan Lee’s acceptance speech at the Disney Legends awards ceremony:

Here’s Mark Hamill’s:

And Whoopi Goldberg:

And of course, we got a tribute to Carrie Fisher who we lost just after Christmas:

In other Star Wars news, the Her Universe clothing line revealed a very awesome line-up of Princess Leia inspired clothes:

And how about this? Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 opens November 21, 2018 and at the Expo the audience got an exclusive clip that showed the movie will take place within the Disney universe and it features Iron Man, R2D2 and C3Po not to mention all the Disney Princesses.

Yes, all the Disney Princesses:

As well as Wreck-It Ralph, we got official logos for upcoming movies such as Ant-man and Wasp and Dumbo (we also have logos of movie s already released for some weird reason…):

Here’s the full Disney movie schedule until 2019… loving the Wreck It Ralph logo!

In some Marvel news, we’ve seen him already but here’s a cool look at Thanos as he’ll appear in the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War:

Jordan (Creed), Danai Gurira (The Walking Dead), Lupita Nyong’o (Star Wars: The Force Awakens), Andy Serkis (War for the Planet of the Apes), Martin Freeman (The Hobbit), and Forest Whitaker (Star Wars: Rogue One).

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
