Dwayne Johnson has hosted the panel for the Black Adam movie and it’s hard not to get excited for the movie, which the star himself, who has tried to get this made for year, clearly is.

During the event Johnson hinted that he and Superman will have a meeting at somepoint in the DCEU and he also threw down the gauntlet to Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Shazam, Batman and Superman, telling them that “The hierarchy of power in the DC Universe is about to change”.

He also talked about the character’s history as a slave will create a character unlike any other in the DCEU mythology:

During the panel, Johnson hinted at who he’ll be taking on during the movie and it seems the rumours were true and we will see the JSA – the Justice Society of America – and which characters from that we will be meeting in the movie.

It seems that Hawkman (who we’re hearing may be played by Alexander Skarsgard – watch this space) and Dr Fate will head up the JSA with new recruits Cyclone and Atom Smasher who was confirmed as being played by Noah Centineo.

Hawkgirl was set to star too but was replaced by Cyclone, on which Johnson said (not at DC Fandome): “Sadly, it’s a complicated story I’ll share w the fans down the road. But it opened up the door for another awesome opportunity for another actress to come in and crush the role of Cyclone.”

Dwayne Johnson is set to star as the DC Comics anti-hero in this film directed by Jaume Collet-Serra. The DC FanDome panel presented concept art of what fans can expect from the Shazam spin-off, including Black Adam’s costume.

Black Adam is scheduled to open on December 22nd, 2021.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
