With the world getting carried away with Star Wars this last couple of weeks (wait, aren’t they always?!) one of the original trilogy actors, Denis Lawson, who played Luke’s friend Wedge Antilles has made his opinion on coming back quite clear…
The scottish actor – who is Obi-Wan actor Ewan McGregor’s uncle – has told The Courier that yes, he was asked to return but, no, he has no interest as it would… bore him!?
Lawson (66) was talking at his home town of Crieff at the screening of his new movie The Machine and when asked about the return of Rogue Squadron’s leader, Wedge, he said: “I’m not going to do that. They asked me but it just would have bored me.”
So, there you have it… Lawson is bored by Star Wars, which is a pity because Wedge is a much-loved character. Still, if true, it’s cool that he was approached…
Star Wars: Episode VII will be directed by J.J. Abrams from a script that he wrote with Lawrence Kasdan. Set to star to original cast members Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker in addition to new cast members John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow.
Return to a galaxy far, far away on December 18th, 2015.
