‘Deus Ex’ Movie Gets A Writer

July 24th, 2014 by Andrew McCarroll Comments

Predators writer Michael Finch has been hired to pen the script for the adaptation of the acclaimed video game Deus Ex.

He will be charged with rewriting a previous screenplay from C Robert Cargill and Scott Derrickson. Derrickson, who had also be scheduled to direct the movie jumped ship to bring Marvel’s Dr Strange to the big screen.

The movie will apparently borrow heavily from the latest version of the game, Human Revolution, which took the story back to before the first title and introduced security chief Adam Jensen, the first person to receive nanotechnology treatment after an attack on his company leaves him badly injured.

Now retired from slaying spooks, he spends his time obsessing over superheroes (especially Batman) and devouring shows like Dexter, Game of Thrones and Archer in a manner that would make Galactus proud.
