Dexter’s Michael C Hall wants to play Batman… but Affleck may not be ready to quit after all

OK, look, it’s time to be honest. I love the DC movies: Man of Steel, Batman V Superman (Ultimate Edition), Wonder Woman and Suicide Squad are among my go to movies when I have a few free hours to chill.

But, I have to be honest with myself here, Justice League was pretty damned terrible.

And we honestly can understand Ben Affleck wanting to jump ship (follow the whole epic tale here). His vision of Batman in the movie universe has been twisted and changed so many times (mostly by stupid Warner Bros decisions) that we honestly get him wanting to call it a day.

But…

We also understand hin wanting to try to make it work.

Batman is arguably one of the greatest movie (comic) characters of all time and has a potential for so many stories and challenges. Heck, he’s arguably one of the greatest characters of all time, period.

Anyone being offered the role of Batman/Bruce Wayne would be silly not to jump at the role – heck, even Dexter actor Michael C Hall wants in on that action: “Batman in general, I like him as a superhero, because he’s not particularly endowed with superpowers, he’s just smart. And the suit!” Hall told Yahoo!.

When asked if Batman was his favourite superhero, he replied: “Batman? Sure.”

“You’d be a great Batman!” yahoo! tells Hall: “I’m Batman, tell your friends about me,” Hall replied, “I love that, that was the Michael Keaton version. Well, thanks, sure – I’m all for that.”

But while we’d LOVE to see Hall in the suit – come on! Dexter as Batman?! What’s not to love? – it seems that Ben Affleck may be on for staying in the cape and ears after all.

Batman-Online is reporting that Twitter user @DanielRPK, who they maintain is a reliable source, believes Affleck is thinking about hanging around and perhaps moving forward in the role and honestly, we’re loving Affleck’s take on the role – his portrayal in Batman V Superman is so comic book accurate it’s unreal – so we’d love to see him stick around.

We reported recently that the Flashpoint movie may no longer be a thing, with it now being a Flash movie instead and since we’ve always believed flashpoint would be Affleck’s way out of the DC Cinematic Universe (here) but with Warner Bros finally showing signs they are treating these movies with the respect they deserve, could Ben Affleck’s Batman still have a bright future as the leader of the Justice League?

Here’s hoping…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
