Disney/Marvel still planning on filming James Gunn’s script for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3

September 26th, 2018 by Marc Comments

It looks like Disney, despite all the hullabaloo over James Gunn (honestly, if you don’t know by now, just click here), are still keen to make his closing chapter in the Guardians of the Galaxy movie trilogy.

They just still don’t know when.

Many people – ourselves included – assumed that once Gunn was gone, Marvel/Disney would move in a completely different direction with Guardians Vol 3 but it seems not.

At least not according to Sean Gunn, brother of James and star of the first two movies.

Sean, who plays Kraglin and – we didn’t know this – provides the motion-capture for Rocket Raccoon – was speaking to Tulsa World newspaper, he revealed that Disney have ltd him they plan of filming his brother’s script.

“I know Disney still wants to make the movie,” he said.

“I know that they have every intention of using the script that my brother wrote.”

The actor goes on to reveal that the pulling of the plug had a far-reaching effect on many people: “Obviously, that was a very unfortunate situation for everybody, most of all him [James Gunn].

“But I am also somebody who had been preparing to spend half a year making that movie and now that’s up in the air. Obviously, I think it’s a tricky proposition for them to find another director to step in — and also the scheduling of a lot of other actors who are incredibly busy can’t be easy.

He goes on: “But I know that they plan on making the movie. I had not been contacted at all for a while, but I was recently contacted by Marvel saying, ‘Yeah, we do plan to make this movie. We’re just not sure when yet.’”

Hmmmmm… it does make sense they would use the script as Gunn clearly had a three movie plan for those loveable idiots… but what say you all?

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
