Daniel Craig’s days as 007 appear to be numbered. The actor has reportedly joined a new 20-part TV series called Purity, leading many to speculate that he will drop out of Bond 25.

War & Peace actor James Norton is the new favourite to replace Craig, who has previously indicated a desire to move away from the spy franchise.

According to The Independent (via Squareeyed), a decision on whether Craig will return as Bond has not been reached, but if he does appear in Purity it does not necessarily mean he will not be back to play Bond.

In the lead-up to Spectre’s release, Craig made headlines when he was quoted as saying he would rather ‘slash his wrists’ than play Bond again.

Producers at Sony have, on several occasions, said they are hoping to secure Craig to play Bond once more, yet there has been no confirmation he will be back.

Numerous actors are tipped to play the iconic role once Craig finishes, including Tom Hardy, Damian Lewis and Idris Elba.
