Of all the movies we fans want, nay need, to see a sequel to it’s Dredd. Oh my, but we almost universally loved this movie…
And it looks like, once again, things ARE moving in the right direction – even if it’s not the direction we may have thought.
Talking to the guys over at Shallow Graves, Dredd himself, Karl Urban, has been talking about the followup movie and the possibility of seeing the Dark Judges in the Dredd movie universe, Urban said: “Why yes, there is a definite possibility. But, it is more likely that we will do the origins story with Dredd trekking through the cursed earth to find the first Chief Judge Fargo.”
Fans from the comics will know that Fargo is the Judge that Dredd was originally cloned from.
It’s an interesting direction for the followup to pursue but we must say, we’re delighted to just hear that it’s certainly in the talk stages… will it be a prequel or will it just be weaved into the tapestry of a straight-out sequel? Hopefully some day we’ll be able to answer this question after watching the movie.
