Dwayne Johnston and Jason Statham’s Fast & Furious spin-off to film this September?

April 4th, 2018 by Irwin Fletcher Comments

Gentlemen (and Ladies if you like) START YOUR ENGINES!!!! Because the news that all the Fasters? Furiousers? Fast-heads? Furiousites? have been waiting for is here.

Universal Studio have given the green light to a Fast and Furious (wheel) spin-off with production beginning in September, according to Omega Underground, Universal is actually beginning to start principal photography in September in locations such as Atlanta, Georgia, Hawaii and the UK (oh, I feel sorry for the poor second unit director who draws the short straw and is stuck shooting in the UK instead of Hawaii).

David Leitch, director of Deadpool 2, is the frontrunner to direct the movie with franchise veteran Chris Morgan to pen the screenplay (never has that sentence been used for such a frivolous subject).  Dwayne Johnston and Jason Statham are expected to reprise their roles from the main franchise as Hobbs and Shaw with rumours that Charlize Theron will further decrease the quality of her eventual obituary by also appearing in the franchise once again

Plot (ha!) details remain locked in a deep vault sealed away from the baying public who are clamouring to know what happens to some hot muscly people in fast muscly cars…

The Fast and Furious spin off is currently slated for release on July 26th, 2019 followed by Fast and Furious 9 on April 10th, 2020
