Could the first Star Wars spin-off – the one directed by Gareth Edwards to be released in 2016 – be a dirty dozen style heist movie only, you know, with alien bounty hunters? God, let’s hope so…
Rumours online are that the movie will be set during the events of A New Hope and will see a group of bounty hunters hired to steal the plans to the death star and the Millenium Falcon could be part of the plot, although it’s unlikely Han and Chewie will appear.
Other reports claim that, while this is true, it’s not the full truth. Perhaps suggesting that the heist is only a small part of the plot?
It’s also rumoured that a main character in this movie will feature or be introduced in Episode VII.
Anyway, it certainly sounds like fun and, even as a kid, it was the sort of thing I always imagined was happening in the background of the main events. I hope there’s something to this…
