Get ready for the female Jump Street spinoff

April 29th, 2015 by James Campbell Comments

In the spirit of the upcoming all-female Ghostbusters, Sony is considering adopting a similar approach with another franchise they own, 21 Jump Street.

According to Tracking Board, the story of this new film will focus on two female cops, who will follow in the footsteps of Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill. As of this moment in time, there has been no announcement about who will play the two leads.

The report claims, that Lucia Aniello and Paul W. Downs, of Broad City fame, have been taped to write a first draft for the script.

It is worth noting that Sony has yet to confirm whether these rumours are true or not, and Tracking Board doesn’t have a flawless history, when it comes to rumours. However, given what we learned during the Sony leaks last year, this does seem to follow a similar pattern.

Oh and 23 Jump  Street is on the cards too…

My name is James and I am a long time fan of Movies, TV and Comics. I am currently a student, wrapping up my education at Aberystwyth University. I have an undergraduate degree in film and television and I’m working on my Masters in scriptwriting. My personal favourite comic character is the Green Lantern (Hal Jordan), and I view the film adaptation as one of the most horrifying experiences I have had in a movie theatre. As far as film and television go, I am usually willing to give any genre a try, as long as the project is well executed.
