Ok, so we’re all excited for the Trainspotting sequel, right? Look, we were THAT age when the first one came out and we’re feeling old, ok? Ok…
Anyway, we we’re looking forward to T2 (check out the trailer here) but not for a second did we think there’s more front he world of Danny Boyle and Trainsptting potentially coming… and not only a movie.
Speaking to NME, Boyle revealed that, after the sequel, Trainspotting could have a future on TV: “Basically, I’ve plans for them all. All in various kind of schedules or adaptations.” It’s all ruling on cable TV, cable TV has some interesting developments. We’re working on all these different kind of things.”
But the TV Show may not simply be more of the same, but might explain part of the world that exists in the books but doesn’t make it to the screen: “I think now anybody who’s in the book, whether they like it or not, they’re working on the way of being in the film. You keep that in mind. As soon as you’ve written it, you’re thinking about how it can move into different mediums.”
So, a Trainspotting extended universe? Aye, why not… everyone else is doing it. What do you all think?
T2: Trainspotting opens January 27th, 2017, in the United Kingdom and on February 3rd in the United States and Canada.
