Ghostbusters: Firehouse gets release date and stars seemingly confirm return

June 29th, 2022 by Marc Comments

We learned a few weeks ago that a new Ghostbusters movie is in development, penned by Afterlife’s Jason Reitman and Gil Kenan and now we know it’s not too far away at all!

Afterlife, you may recall, ended with Winston Zeddemore taking the Ecto-1 back to the Firehouse headquarters of the original team and we learned that the containment unit still has ghosts in it and that Winston is now a successful businessman with a mind to bring the team back together it is currently called Ghostbusters: Firehouse and now we know that we’ll be seeing it, hopefully, on December 20th, 2023.

Yes! Less than 18 months from now, we’ll all be getting ready for Christmas and watching yet more new Ghostbusters!

While little is known about the movie now, it is expected it will return to the setting of the first two movies, New York City which is very exciting to fan like us.

New Ghostbusters animated series coming

On top of this news, Ghostbusters: Afterlife stars Carrie Coon, Logan Kim, McKenna Grace and Finn Wolfhart have all seemingly teased their returns too (here) which makes sense since we learned the Firehouse will indeed be a sequel to Afterlife (here) with Ernie Hudson’s Winston Zeddemore expected to take control of a new Ghostbusters franchise.

This is really exciting news and we can honestly not think of a better time for a Ghostbusters movie than Christmas, well, maybe Halloween, but it has us wondering if the movie will be set during Christmas? We’d be ok with that…

Thoguhts?
