Ghostbusters signs up four more actors…

After reporting that Boardwalk Empire’s Michael K Williams is joining the cast of Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters reboot last night (here), it looks like more names have signed on… Oh, and the new rumour is that Williams’ character will be called Hawkins. Make of that what you will.

Anyway, the rest…

Andy Garcia has been cast as the Mayor of New York City which we actually like; Garcia is a cracking actor and does far too little these days, so we we’re hoping for a meatier role than Lenny in the original movie.

The long-rumoured Cecily Strong has now been confirmed, although in what role we aren’t sure yet.

Rolemodels actor Matt Walsh will play Rourke – I can’t lie, I really like Walsh’s comedy work so am curious to see who – or what – Rourke is.

And real-life New York City’s NY1 news anchor Pat Kiernan will play… himself. Something similar to Casey Kasem in the first movie, perhaps?

Anyway, stick with us for the GB news as it breaks and let us know what you think.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
