How to dress like James Bond at the casino…

August 28th, 2013 by Marc Comments

Going to the casino should be a high class affair. Unfortunately, there appears to be a serious lack of judgment from some quarters when it comes to the topic of a casino dress code. During my last visit to a casino, I noticed there were some people wearing really scruffy clothes. There was even someone wearing jogging bottoms and a ripped T-shirt!

Maybe it’s just me, expecting some sense of fashion from casino patrons. Maybe I’ve just seen too many Bond films. No, it’s not me. there are rules, supposedly. A gentleman should adhere to a dress code. Nevertheless, in the private suites of some seemingly upmarket casinos, the patron’s clothes tend to look like they’ve rolled in straight from a building site as opposed to something chic. Bingo, anyone?

You should know what to wear when visiting the casino. Nothing would be more embarrassing than visiting a casino with business clients, only to be told that you can’t go in because the outfit you are wearing is too scruffy. On the other hand, the last thing you want is to wander around the casino in uncomfortable shoes, looking extremely overdressed.

During the day, dress codes in casinos are pretty relaxed. People can go to the casino during the day in casual wear. However, there are exceptions to this. There are some types of footwear, such as scruffy sandals for men, and flip-flops and rubber shoes such as Crocs for both women and men that are often not permitted. Shorts are acceptable, but only as long as they are of a respectable length. You can often wear jeans as long as they are not ripped, holey or paint-spattered, even if you bought them like that.

The dress codes observed in upmarket casinos are stricter once the sun has set. Of course if you want to wear what you like to a casino at any time, it might be best to emulate the experience with at tone of the many popular online casino websites such as Bgo.com. For a reel-life casino evening casual outfits, including jeans, are no longer allowed. If you are making plans to visit the casino during the evening, you must wear something formal. Ladies; you can wear short cocktail dresses, perhaps matched with heels or neat flats, or a simple gown that has minimal decorations and beadings. Remember, there is nothing wrong with flashing just a little bit of flesh. However, it is important to examine exactly how much skin your outfit could be revealing. Women wearing outfits that show a lot of flesh might not be allowed entrance into the casino.

For men, a well-tailored suit always does the trick. However, if you are planning to hit on the ladies or are taking out a business associate, you should wear a tuxedo. Also, don’t forget to polish your shoes.
