Spooky Pictures and IDW Entertainment are adapting the horror hit DUNGEON for film so moviegoers can experience the startling story.

“There’s no shortage of serial killer stories in the marketplace. The challenge is finding one that is both terrifying and goes to places we haven’t seen before. DUNGEON is it,” stated Spooky Pictures Co-Founder Steven Schneider. “We were instantly gripped, and couldn’t put it down. And even as longtime fans and producers in the genre, we found ourselves haunted by what we read. This is our SILENCE OF THE LAMBS and SE7EN, and we can’t wait to unleash it on audiences.”

“As IDW continues to bring its captivating stories to new audiences across different media platforms, we couldn’t ask for better partners on the feature film adaptation of DUNGEON,” commented Daniel Kendrick, IDW’s Senior Vice President of Film & TV. “Ever since this spine-chilling story entered development as a comic, IDW has loved the terrifying twists and turns. Spooky Pictures has proven they know how to make audiences scream and we’re thrilled to work with them to bring this story to life.”

Batman and Gotham City make official DCU debut and we have loads of details and news

DUNGEON, crafted from Snyder and acclaimed artist Hayden Sherman, is a shocking and fearsome mystery about a serial killer that is unlike anything fans have experienced before. Praised as “one of the best horror comics of the year” by ComicBook.com and a reading experience that “creeps under the reader’s skin” by CBR, DUNGEON follows a family that escapes the busy life for a quiet setting in the woods… only to discover a hidden dungeon with a threatening message: TELL NO ONE. How far will the father go to protect his family from the terrors of the dungeon? The twisted tale will leave fans speechless, with The Beat applauding the comic’s ending as “dark in a way that I didn’t see coming, not even a little bit.”

“I’ll be right back!” Matthew Lillard confirmed returning for Scream VII

“DUNGEON was a book that required Hayden and I to go down some dark places,” said Snyder. “The result was something I’d honestly list as a career highlight. So I couldn’t be more thrilled to see Spooky Pictures and IDW bring it to the big screen! I’m a big, big fan of what they do. I can’t wait to see what comes next!”

“This book was a special one to make,” added Sherman. “It allowed Scott and I to explore very foundational human fears in pursuit of a grounded claustrophobic thriller. The result is something I’m very proud of. It’s a joy to see it now taken further as Spooky Pictures and IDW work to bring DUNGEON to film!”

Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
