Captain America: Civil War has been named as the move where the all-new Spider-man will debut, but with it set to start filming this month, there’s still no word on who will play ol’ web-head.

However, The Wrap’s Jess Sneider, in the latest episode of Meet The Movie Press (below), says there are a few names attached to the role right now but the favourite – and a name we keep hearing too – is Ender’s Game star Asa Butterfield (above). Could he be the Spidey that Marvel and Sony want?

We’ll keep you posted, folks but with Butterfield being 18 and the rumours that both studios want an actor young enough to carry this for several years/movies, we reckon he could be a good call for the role.

Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
