A few days ago we learned that the fifth Bourne movie was to be delayed by almost a year – it was assumed it was because Jeremy renner was busy being an Avenger and part of the Mission: Impossible team, but it seems it may be more than that…
Latino Review are claiming they have a source who is claiming “Matt Damon is in fact coming back to play Jason Bourne again for the film’s director Justin Lin. Damon has previously said in the past he had no intention of returning unless Paul Greengrass was the director and they had a good story they can crack because “I love that character and I’d love to see what happened to him”.”
The last Bourne movie took less than half of the one before it and it’s widely suspected it was because Renner just hasn’t got the pull that Damon has, so it would make sense the studio wants him back. And the idea of justin Lin directing a Bourne movie has us a little giddy…

Producer Frank Marshall has told Latino Review‘s El Mayimbe that the rumours of Damon’s return are “Simply not true”. However, Mayimbe is sticking to his guns, reporting that his source has never been wrong…
