With Shane black’s new Predator movie coming along nicely, we’ve just heard that a very cool addition to the cast has been confirmed.
Jake Busey, star of Starship Troopers and The Frighteners, joined the cast a while ago and now we’ve learned who he’s playing… and it’s actually pretty great. Why? Well, his father, Gary Busey, starred in Predator 2 (above) and Jake will be playing his son in the sequel.
That’s kinda awesome.

Jake says in the interview on The Red Booth (below): “[Shane Black] called me and he said ‘Hey, you wanna do this movie? We don’t have money for you but it’ll be a fun thing to come play and be your father’s son.’ And so as much as I have followed in my Dad’s footsteps career-wise, this is like really following in his footsteps by playing a character who is the son of the character he played, and I don’t think there would be any other forum where I would do that. I think this is the one thing.”

We’re actually fans of both father and son and while Predator 2 wasn’t exactly Gary Busey’s biggest role – although his death was impressive – it’ll be nice to see the connection between the movies.
Busey adds: “If you liked the very first movie a lot, you’ll really like this one. This one has a lot of essence of the first movie,” given that we’re hearing this one will feature a lot of practical effects and, well, gore, we’re getting pretty excited to re-enter the Predator universe.

Simpson”), Trevante Rhodes (“Moonlight”), Boyd Holbrook(“Logan”), Jacob Tremblay (“Room”) – in the front with Black , Olivia Munn (“X-Men: Apocalypse”), Keegan-Michael Key (“Key and Peele”), Thomas Jane (The Expanse) and Alfie Allen(Game of Thrones).
The Predator will hunt again on August 3, 2018.
