James Gunn confirms Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 is almost at planning stage…

March 15th, 2017 by Marc Comments

OK, so it’a fair to say we’re all VERY excited for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2… the return of Peter Quill, Drax, Gamorra and the gang – with new members of the team this time – is welcome one.

And, firstly, let’s just get it out of the way: James Gunn just confirmed Vol 3 WILL happen.

You hear that? Here’s what Gunn said: “There will be a Guardians 3, that’s for sure. We’re trying to figure it out. I’m trying to figure out what I want to do really, that’s all it is. I got to figure out where I want to be, what I want to spend the next three years of my life doing.

“You know, I’m going to make another big movie; is it the Guardians or something else? I’m just going to figure it out over the next couple of weeks.”

So Gunn may move on to something else after Vol 2 hits screens, but we’re confident we’ll see him return to that galaxy far, far away; no, not THAT one.

So you can rest easy, ok?

In related news, Gunn has also been talking about Kurt Russell as Ego The Living Planet and how he will be a planet in the movie, despite having already been revealed as a man and Quill’s father in the trailer (here): “Ego is a living planet who is able to manifest himself in different ways he’s been alone for millions of years and he’s learned how to control the molecules around him in such a way as to create avatars of themselves, such as Kurt Russell.

“I think Ego was a very lonely character out there by himself and went off in search of love and perhaps found it in Quill’s mother.”

Ok, makes sense for now…

What so you all think? Happy to know that the Guardians will return ager Avengers: Infinity War? Let us know…

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, directed by James Gunn, will hit theaters May 5, 2017 and will feature Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Drax (Dave Bautista), Rocket (Bradley Cooper) and Baby Groot (Vin Diesel) as well as Ego (Kurt Russell).
