Jamie Lee Curtis returns to the Halloween franchise…

September 17th, 2017 by Marc Comments

Oooooooooh….

A hollywood legend has returned to the franchise that made her famous and we couldn’t be happier.

One of the original cinematic beautiful tough women, Jamie Lee Curtis is returning to the Halloween franchise.

The news was broke over the weekend via John Carpenter’s official Facebook Page:

Now, confusingly, word is that the Halloween franchise has mimicked the direction the Superman movies before Man of Steel and has basically written off several movies in the franchise and gone back to an earlier installment.

Huh?

Well, this movie is a sequel the original Halloween 2 (1981), making it the unofficial Halloween 3. Or the official Halloween 3, since the movie that carried that name was the bonkers Halloween: Season of the Witch which had nothing to do with the franchise.

Oh, and it may also take place before 1998’s Halloween H2O and the 2002 sequel Halloween Resurrection or maybe they don’t exist now. We’re confused.

Here’s all the details we gleamed from Variety:

Universal Pictures will release the movie on October 19th, 2018

It will be the final film in the Halloween series.

Curtis’ character will have a final confrontation with Michael Myers on Halloween night four decades later.

John Carpenter will executive produce and serve as creative consultant on this film and has said: “38 years after the original ‘Halloween,’ I’m going to help to try to make the 10th sequel the scariest of them all.”

On the image above, Curtis said: Same porch. Same clothes. Same issues. 40 years later. Headed back to Haddonfield one last time for Halloween.

Yeah, we’re pretty damned excited for this one… are you?

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
