Jonathan Liebesman wants Dimension X and Krang in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2

August 12th, 2014 by Marc Comments

Well, despite everyone thinking it couldn’t happen, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has proven really successful and has already spawned a sequel (here) and so, as expected, the plot is in the works… but what can we expect?

If you’ve seen the movie you’ll know that it changes some parts of the mythology but one thing they did keep -and the thing that caused all the fan rage early on in production “alien turtles?!”- was that the mutagen was from TCRI. And fans will know that TCRI is a front for an alien group known as the Krang – really called Ultroms – who hail from a nightmare place called Dimension X.

Well, we’re wondering just how much of this stuff we can expect to see in the sequel, if any.

Director Jonathan Liebesman and producers Bradley Fuller and Andrew Form talked to Screenrant about how out there the sequels may get. When asked if htey would like to introduce aliens into the movie, Liebesman replied “F@ck yeah!”.

He goes on: “I would love to. I mean it’s not up to me. It’s up to all of us to decide.” Fuller adds: ” But we’ve talked about those worlds already.”

They also hinted that they were almost part of the movie in the cinemas now but left it too “unfocused”.

Would you like to see the Turtles movie being a universe builder and the mythology going down the current superhero movie route and being blown wide open to feature elements from all over the history of the characters? I know we would…
