In a new interview about his new movie Run All Night, Liam Neeson has admitted that he’s close to retiring from the whole action movie thing…

“Maybe two more years. If God spares me and I’m healthy,” he said about his ongoing action hero status. “But after that, I’ll stop I think.”

It was, of course, the Taken movies that turned our native Irishman into an action star – a mantle he seemed born to carry. But alas, he feels that, at 62, he’s a bit long in the tooth for it now: “I’m in a very, career-wise, great place,” he said.

“The success of certainly the Taken films, Hollywood seems to see me in a different light. I get sent quite a few action-oriented scripts, which is great. I’m not knocking it. It’s very flattering. But there is a limit, of course.”

His Run All Night co-star Joel Kinnaman reckons there’s life in Neeson’s career yet, saying: “He’s so physically capable, he’s an old boxer. When he knocks somebody out in the movie, you believe it…”

What about you all? Is Liam too old? Let us know…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
