The first images have started to pop up online of Star Wars star John Boyega suited up and filming the sequel to Pacific Rim.
He plays the son of Idris Eba’s character, Pentecost Stacker, in Pacific Rim Uprising – formerly Maelstrom – which is currently filming in Australia.
Not very much is known about the sequel yet but the first movie was a very divisive one but we loved it so next February can’t come fast enough.
Steven S. DeKnight, the man behind Marvel and Netflix’s Daredevil, is directing Maelstrom, which also stars Scott Eastwood, Cailee Spaeny, Jing Tian, and Levi Meaden.
Pacific Rim: Maelstrom is set for release on 23 February 2018.
