Looks like the Wachowskis are working on more Matrix movies

Just a few months ago it was hinted that Warner Bros may have plans for the future of the Matrix franchise (here) and now we may have some more details via John Wick 3 director Chad Stahelski, who worked on the Matrix movies.

“I’m super happy that the Wachowskis are not just doing a Matrix, but they’re expanding what we all loved,” Stahelski said, speaking of the creators and directors of the series so far.

“And if it’s anywhere near the level of what they’ve already done, it wouldn’t take more than a call to go, ‘Hey, we want you to be a stunt guy’ and I would probably go and get hit by a car.”

Asked if they would be returning to direct, he added: “I’m not sure of the overall.”

Asked if they are definitely working on a new movie, he said: “Yeah. And if they wanted help, I would absolutely put down whatever I was doing to help them.”

Asked recently about the possibility of returning to the role of Neo in the series, star Keanu Reeves said: “I think when you get to revisit a story and continue to tell a story, you’re bringing in the past and the work that you’ve done.”

“So for me, it’s about placing the emotional state of where you are into who the character is. How do they feel? How do they think? And then putting on the suit if the costume really becomes the exterior that you fill in.”

He also said that if the Wachowskis were writing it he “would be up for that”.

Still nothing concrete yet, of course, but as a fan of the original trilogy – especially the first movie which is a modern masterpiece – i would be very, very excited for this.

What say you all?
