Last week, veteran action movie star Sylvester Stallone was spotted leaving a hotel with what looked to be a Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 script in hand. Now, it appears that that reports of his involvement in the follow-up to the smash-hit Marvel adventure were accurate as Heroic Hollywood (via Sqaureeyed) claim to have bagged the scoop of who he is playing.
It was reported last week that Stallone was spotted in a costume very similar to his Judge Dredd suit and it led many to believe he was one of the Nova Corps. But now it seems now…
Coming straight from their self-proclaimed “Ace Scooper” Umberto Gonzalez, HH are reporting that Sly will play one of The Ravagers, conflicting previous reports that he may play either Star-Lord’s father or the mysterious Ego the Living Planet character. A couple of weeks ago, it was also confirmed that Sons of Anarchy actor Tommy Flanagan would also play one of The Ravagers.
The Ravagers are an interstellar group of thieves, smugglers and pirates. They were notable across the galaxy for their crimes and red uniforms. They are allies of the Guardians of the Galaxy.
The name of Stallone’s character hasn’t been revealed but whoever he’s playing, it’s great to have such an iconic name line-up alongside the Guardians.
In related news, director James Gunn added a new pic of the cast together – no Stallone, sadly.
