So we only just posted that the DC Cinematic Universe may have found its Shazam! (here) and last night we confirmed the Harley Quinn movie (here) and now it looks like the much-rumoured Man of Steel 2 (here) has just been confirmed too.

Now Henry Cavill’s new manager, Dany Garcia, has been talking about the actor’s upcoming slate and, it seems, his bid for fortune and fame, kid, fortune and fame… look, she’s The Rock’s agent, so she can say these things, ok?

Anyway, Garcia said of Cavill’s work commitments: “Henry has a big appetite. We’ve been in a five-month period of time where he’s re-strategizing, acquiring property [for his production company Promethean], he’s filming [Justice League] now, he’s in development for the Superman standalone… he’s beginning to expand that world. It’s beautifully teed up. In a year from now, or two years from now, he’s going to be a force globally.”

Yup, “he’s in development for the Superman standalone”.

Well, it seems that with Geoff Johns at the helm of the DCCU (here) things are moving along nicely, despite luke-warm receptions to the DC Movies by critics – but hey, as fans, we love them.

We’re excited for this and we can’t help feeling that, while everyone is tied up in how dark Superman is these days, we could be set for a lighter, more hopeful version in MoS 2…

Suicide Squad is out now, while Wonder Woman opens on June 2, 2017; Justice League on November 17, 2017; Aquaman on July 27, 2018; an untitled DC Film on October 5, 2018; Shazam on April 5, 2019; Justice League 2 on June 14, 2019; an untitled DC film on November 1, 2019; Cyborg on April 3, 2020; and Green Lantern Corps on July 24, 2020. The Flash, the Batman solo movie, The Harley solo movie and Man of Steel 2 are currently without release dates.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
