Marvel has reached out to Hugh Jackman to appear in the MCU as Wolverine…

November 3rd, 2020 by Marc Comments

So we all know by now that, much as DC are doing, Marvel and the MCU plan on exploring the multiverse in their upcoming shows and movies.

And while we have heard all sorts of rumours – including that we could see Tom Cruise as Tony Stark from another universe (here) – and now we have a new crazy, although oddly not crazy, rumour that Hugh Jackman has been approached to appear one last time as Wolverine/Logan.

We all know, of course, that Jackman played the iconic role in 20th Century Fox’s X-Men movies and is not going to be the MCU’s Wolverine whenever he appears, however, if they set up the multiverse, there’s no reason at all that he couldn’t at least appear in the MCU at least once and word is that Marvel/Disney are keen for it to happen.

We already know that Evan Peters is set to appear in the WandaVision series on Disney+ with him being rumoured to play Quicksilver from the X-Men movies (here), so the idea of Jackman appearing is actually a good one. Not only that but it would also be a massive draw for fans and audiences, in general, to have him return one last time.

The news comes from Daniel RPK (below) who says that an offer has been put out to the actor. Adding to this, more rumours suggest that MCU boss Kevin Feige has a wishlist of actors he’d like to see appear in the MCU at some point and youtuber Grace Randolph, who has a solid track record on scoops, said:  “I’ve also heard that Feige is talking to Sony about making your dreams come true and having Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield come back to unite the Spider-Men, Batman-Flash style. He also would like to bring back Hugh Jackman for one last round as Wolverine.”

Of course, going back to 2018, Winter Soldier stan Sebastian Stan hinted that Jackman may be set for an MCU appearance at some point in the future (here) and, let’s not forget that Jackman himself has said on several occasions that he would love to make the jump to the MCU: “The Avengers would prove too much to turn down because I always love the idea of [Wolverine] within that dynamic, with the Hulk obviously, with Iron Man.”

Personally, I would have no issues with Fox’s X-Men becoming integrated into the MCU in some way, including Jackman… what do you all say? Let me know, folks.
