Mason Gooding’s Chad back for Scream VII

December 18th, 2024 by Marc Comments

Big news for Scream VII as star of the last two movies, Mason Gooding, has signed on to reprise his role in the new movie.

Goodling previously played Chad Meeks-Martin along with Jasmin Savoy Brown as his twin sister, Mindy.

Both stars left along with Jenna Ortega when lead actress Melissa Barrera was fired from the franchise after the unforgivable sin of writing things someone didn’t agree with on social media but now Gooding is returning and I’m fully expecting Brown will too.

As for Ortega and Barrera as Tara and Sam Carpenter, it’s unlikely but it would be great to have the ‘core four’ from the last two movies returning.

Ghostbusters star McKenna Grace joins cast of Scream VII

Barrera has certainly made it clear in the past that she would still be up for coming back, saying: “I’ve learned to never say never, but also a lot of things would have to happen for Sam to come back.”

Gooding joins Neve Campbell, Courtenay Cox, Isabel May, Celeste O’Connor, Asa Germann, Mckenna Grace and Sam Rechner with franchise creator Kevin Williamson on directing duties.

On top of this, we have also learned that Pitch Perfect and Hysteria star Anna Camp has signed on to appear too.

Honestly, this cast is really, really great. I cannot wait for this movie!

Also, we’re still hearing that Patrick Dempsey’s Mark Kincaid is signed on to the new movie as Sidney Prescott’s husband and likely dad to McKenna Grace and Isabel May’s characters. Expect an announcement soon? I sure hope so…

“Stu is still alive…” Matthew Lillard prepping us for a Scream VII return?!
