Ok, would anyone really be surprised to learn that there’s been talk of a third Top Gun movie after Top Gun Maverick basically conquered the world box office, breaking all sorts of records?
Good, because there have been.
In a recent interview, star Miles Teller confirmed that talks have happened and that the main man, Tom Cruise, has the final say on what happens; on the topic of a third movie, Teller, left, who played the son of the original movie character Goose, played by Anthon Edwards, said: “That would be great, but that’s all up to TC,”
TC of course, being Tom Cruise. Teller goes on: “It’s all up to Tom. I’ve been having some conversations with him about it. We’ll see.”
Maverick was so much fun in so far as it was a real throwback to no-nonsense, testosterone-filled fun, the sort of movies they made in the 80s (funny that), proving that cinemagoers are tired of being reached too and that not all big movies need to involve capes and superheroes, and it was a breath of fresh air.
I’d be very surprised if a third movie didn’t happen – and I’ve heard rumours of a TV series and/or animated show but I’d not bet on those just yet.
I loved Maverick and if they can keep up that quality, I thought it was better than the 80s original, then I’ll be there first night for the third installment,
Thoughts? I want to hear them all, gang…
