I’m not saying that we’re excited about The Last Jedi, but we are.
Rumours have been doing the rounds that Joseph Gordon-Levitt, of Third Rock From The Sun and The Dark Knight Rises fame, has an undisclosed role in the upcoming Star Wars flick. And now, director Rian Johnson has confirmed that the not-Robin actor definitely has a cameo in the movie.
While doing the promo rounds in Japan, Johnson mentioned that Levitt will be providing a voice-over in the new movie. This indicates that he’ll likely be playing an alien rendered through CGI, puppetry or a mix of the two. It’s not exactly a surprise, since The Force Awakens had Simon Pegg playing junkyard owner Unkar Plutt and even Daniel Craig as a Stormtrooper. The director was also refusing to comment on whether he’d replace Colin Trevorrow for Episode IX, but as we now know, that’s a moot point.
Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi will be released on 20 December 2017.
