Well, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t know this was coming because, well, I did, but it still really stings.
With that damned virus creating havoc across the globe, I was holding Ghostbusters: Afterlife as my lifeline… my beacon of hope; my ‘the world is back to normal!’ movie. But, alas, it wasn’t to be.
Sony has announced that Ghostbusters: Afterlife will be pushed back from July 10th, 2020, to March 5th, 2021. Joining it is Morbius which is pushed back from July 31st, 2020, to March 19th, 2021.
The Tom Holland-starring Uncharted movie has been pushed from March 5th, 2021, to October 8th, 2021 and Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway has moved from August 7th, 2020 to January 15th, 2021.
An untitled Sony/Marvel movie due on October 8th, 2021 is now left without a date at all.
This, while sad, is temporary, folks. It’s important to remember that we are all in this together – I’m housebound here in sunny Ireland, so know that wherever you are and however alone you feel, you are not alone. We are all in this together and we’ll all be back in the real world soon. So chin up folks… the Ghostbusters WILL save the world again. Just a little later than planned.
Stay safe, all.
