Almost to the day two years ago we reported that a Plasticman movie was in the works at Warners/DC (here) but until today, we have hear nothing further.
But now we have big news.
It seems that Black List writer Cat Vasko has been hired to write a Plastic Man movie, replacing previous writer Amanda Idoko. However, the original script was a “comedic, action-driven, script” focusing on Patrick “Eel” O’Brian AKA Plasticman, a reformed criminal who was shot and doused in a chemical which left his with super stretching powers, and then becomes a policeman, whereas now it’s a very different animal, indeed.
Queen of the Air writer Vasko’s script “will now be a female-led vehicle”.
So… Plasticperson? Mrs Fantastic? Plasticwoman? Plasticgirl? Elastigirl? No, that last one is taken, sorry.
No word on what exactly this will be… is it connected to the rest of the DCEU? Can we expect to see the hero join the Justice League as he (she?) did briefly in the comics? Who knows, but whatever happens, we’ll keep you all abreast of the situation.
Let me know your thoughts, gang.
