Ok, so we know that there’s a good chance that there’s going to be a time travel element to the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War… and it looks like new images may provide a tantalising glimpse at a big event from the MCU that will be revisited in the movie.
A bunch of new images from the set (which you can see here) in Atlanta GA feature four of the Avengers: Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as Hulk, Robert Downey Jnr (with blonde hair!?) as Tony Stark/Iron Man and Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-man.
Nothing weird about that, right? Except that the images show Captain America wearing his suit from 2012’s Avengers and, from the look of the battle damaged set, it certainly looks like they the scene takes place during the Battle of New York when the Chitari invade… which Ant-man wasn’t there for and which didn’t have Tony Stark with blonde hair!
So could this mean the characters from the modern MCU are travelling back in time to the battle for some reason? Does it mean that Cap is the one from 2012 since he’s wearing the original costume?
So here’s the thing… all the characters are wearing special devices on their hands. Could these be some sort of time travelling device? We know in the movie Thanos will have the Time Stone at some point, so have the Avengers found a way of travelling in time too? Perhaps to change something in the past?
Of course this isn’t the first time we speculated the movie will revisit a big past MCU event (here), so it looks like anything could change after this movie. And that’s pretty exciting…
