Scified.com has announced that the Alien franchise‘s newest film Prometheus 2 is set to start filming in January next year.

The sequel to Ridley Scott’s 2012 film, Prometheus 2 will apparently “feature multiple ‘David’ Android units played by Michael Fassbender.”

Other parts of the plot are not yet known however Scified does confirm that “Prometheus 2 will not be affected by Neil Blomkamp’s Alien 5.”

Ridley Scott’s current sci-fi film The Martian; which tells the story of an astronaut who, after being presumed dead after a terrible storm, is left behind on mars and must find a way to survive and inform the Earth he still lives; is set for release on 30th September this year.

Prometheus 2 is set for release in 2017

My name is Jonathan Snelling. I’ve been a movie fan for a long time now and last year completed a degree in Film and Television Studies at Aberystwyth University. It’s hard to choose a favourite film but I’ve always been a major fan of Christopher Nolan’s Batman saga. I’m really interested to see how Ben Affleck does in Dawn of Justice as it's set to be an incredible film. I’m usually willing to see any genre but naturally some more so than others.
