RUMOUR! Charlie’s Angels reboot gets four badass ladies on board…

July 9th, 2018 by Marc Comments

Ok, look, we’re not entirely convinced of this one, ok? We reckon it’s been started somewhere and gathered traction… but we’re reporting it so we’re either the devil, spreading crap, or legends for bringing you details yet to be released.

So, we reported in 2015 that Elizabeth Banks was keen to make a new Charlie’s Angels movie (here) and we had heard since then that Kristen Stewart (adventureland, Twilight) and Lupita Nyong’o (Black Panther, The Force Awakens) were keen to be part of the universe. And we heard nothing since then.

Until now. Various sites are reporting that Banks is directing the movie and the Angels will indeed be Kristen Stewart and Lupita Nyong’o and they’ll be joined by Naomi Scott who was one of the best things about the Power Rangers movie last year as the Pink Ranger.

We’re also hearing that Banks will be playing Bosely as well as directing.

Bosely was has always been played by a man in the TV shows and movies – with Bill Murray nailing it in the first movie – but we can see Banks in the role. we’re guessing that, like the Angels themselves, Bosely is a code name… kinda like that James Bond theory.

Boesly was, of course, the liaison between the Angels and Charlie, a billionaire who would hire the three beautiful, badass women, to beat up bad guys, prevent dastardly deeds and, when necessary, save the world.

So, it’s pointless wondering if this is a soft reboot, full reboot or re-imagining because, well, it hardly matters.

But, with these four rumoured for the gig, we’re looking forward to seeing it.

Thoughts?

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
