We can’t stress how much of a rumour this is… seriously, we’re only reporting it because it’s out there and we kinda like the idea behind it (though maybe not the actor choice.
This rumour comes from Moviepilot so large pinch of salt, ok?
They are reporting that a reliable source (the one who told them Kylo Ren was played by Adam Driver apparently) has told them that Boba Fett is in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and will be played by…. Max Von Sydow.
Now, we’re having difficulty seeing Von Sydow as an older version of Daniel Logan and Tem Morrison (below). Or is that just us?
We’ve heard that Von Sydow’s character will have enhanced body parts – particularly an arm – and the ‘source’ is also saying that this is due to the damage Fett suffered in the Sarlaac Pit after the events of Return of the Jedi.
They also say that “the reveal will come later in the third act and tie into the events after the Battle of Jakku. His identity is hidden by cybernetic modifications and the fact that he doesn’t wear the Mando armor until his true identity is revealed.”
Now, what if this ties into the rumours we heard ages ago (here) that Disney wanted Michael Fassbender for Boba (we’ve posted a fun image of Fassbender in the suit at the bottom of the page)? And that the name had become a mantle rather than a single person?
Could you see Von Sydow as an older Fassbender? Curiously… maybe. Anyway, isn’t it awesome speculating?
