RUMOUR MILL: The Rock set for Green Lantern?

January 3rd, 2014 by Marc Comments

Well, we all know that Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is involved in someway with Warners/DC (here) but we still don’t know how… sure we’ve speculated how exactly, but now a rumour has hit that isn’t our favourites Bane, Lobo or Doomsday.

Late last year the rumour broke that Denzel Washington was up for the role of Green Lantern John Stewart (here) but now it seems that the Rock may be in line for that part… frankly, it’s all here say at the minute but it’s fun, so let’s role with it.

We are assuming the character is for the upcoming Batman vs. Superman movie and not a standalone movie, but since it may not be true, who can say?

Writer Peter Georgiu of ThinkMcFlyThink shared the rumor that Johnson is being considered for the role of John Stewart earlier today via Twitter feed:

Sadly, right now that’s all there is to it… but rest assured, when we hear more, you’ll hear more.

Batman vs. Superman will rock theaters on July 17th, 2015.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
