Ryan Reynolds reveals third Deadpool movie at Fox was to feature Wolverine!

January 29th, 2021 by Marc Comments

Oh, woe is us!

So, we all know by now that Deadpool’s movie rights are back with Disney who bought over 20th Century Fox and along with it, all the X-Men and mutant characters of which Wade Wilson is one.

We also know that Marvel bossman Kevin Feige has confirmed they will be making a third Deadpool movie with Ryan Reynolds and, to the joy of some, it will likely be the MCU’s first official R-rated entry (here) and we’re all very excited.

Only… it may never live up to what almost was to be.

“Deadpool 3 was gonna be a road trip between Deadpool and Logan. Rashomon style. For real,” he teased.

Now, for years all we fans have wanted – well, one of the things we wanted – was to have Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool meet Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and it looks like Fox were on the verge of making it happen pre-buy out.

A road movie?! With these two?!

And the Rashomon reference is a nod to the 1950 Akira Kurosawa film which breaks down characters on a journey from several different perspectives… the fourth wall breaking part of Deadpool could have made this very funny, indeed.

The third movie at Marvel is currently being penned by Bob’s Burgers writers Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin, watched closely by Reynolds, but the previous plan is currently not up for grabs and the new take will be very different.

Anyway, that’s where we are… what say you all? Are you confident that MCU Deadpool will top what went before or would you rather have seen the originally planned third movie? Let me know all your thoughts, gang…
