Schwarzenegger confirms new Terminator filming finished AND the movie’s official title

August 6th, 2014 by Marc Comments

It looks like the fifth Terminator movie is finished. And the man who is best known as the Terminator, Arnold Schwarzenegger, has thanked everyone on his Facebook page… and revealed the movie’s official title.

He wrote:

“Hasta la vista, baby.

“I want to thank the cast and crew of Terminator Genisys for a fantastic shoot. It was challenging, it was fun, and it was rewarding. From our director to the producers, from the camera team to catering, from visual effects to hair and makeup – we couldn’t have done it without you. I can’t wait to see our finished project and I know we’ll remind the fans why they fell in love with the Terminator. On July 1, 2015, I’ll be back.”

He also posted the below image… so we know it’s NOT a typo…

The Alan Taylor directed reboot is being produced by Paramount Pictures and Skydance Productions will bring back Arnold Schwarzenegger in the title role with Jai Courtney playing Kyle Reese, Jason Clarke as John Connor and Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke playing Sarah Connor. More recent additions to the cast include Matt Smith (Doctor Who), Byng-hun Lee (G.I. Joe: Retaliation), J.K. Simmons (Spider-Man), Sandrine Holt (House of Cards) and Dayao Okeniyi (The Hunger Games).

The idea is to thread together ideas from the previous movies to relaunch the story of a cyborg from the future sent back to prevent computers from gaining sentience and turning on humanity.

The film will be released July 1st, 2015.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
