Ok, remember the image above? It was a mysterious woman who popped up in the Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer and had the internet go into a minor seizure  trying to work out who she was… remember it now?

Well, the guys at Cinema Blend have seen the movie and sadly, they’ve confirmed that she is… no-one.

Here’s what they say:

The mysterious lady in the cave wasn’t actually featured in the movie, so I took the opportunity to ask Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige about it during a one-on-one chat. Feige said: “That was just the imagery. That was just interesting imagery as part of a dream sequence… It was part of when Thor was looking around at the oddity and the strangeness happening and it was just an image marketing grabbed… it was just an arresting image which seemed interesting and when marketing presented it to us, we said, ‘Oh yeah, cool! This is great! Amazing, great work.’ And then it started to go out and I thought, ‘People are going to read into all this stuff.’”

So lesson learned? Not every thing is important… or is it all just forward shadowing? We’ll have to wait and see…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
