Sony has cast the lead and villain in their Miles Morales animated Spider-man movie

April 14th, 2017 by Marc Comments

We’ve known for a while that Miles Morales was set for the Sony big screen Spider-man animated movie (here) and now we know who will be playing him.

Dope and The Get Down star Shameik Moore has signed on to voice the web-slinging hero in the movie – although we still know nothing about the plot of the adventure.

We also now know that the villain will be voiced by Ray Donovan himself, actor Live Schreiber (below). There’s no word on just who the villain will be at this point but we love Schreiber so this will be one to look forward to.

Shameik Moore will portray the hero, while Liev Schreiber will voice the villain in the Sony Pictures Animation project.

The movie was penned by LEGO movie and Han Solo co-director Phil Lord while it will be produced by him and his other co-director on those movies, Chris Miller.

Sony are also planning a Spider-man live action universe (without Spider-man) and will kick it off with a Venom movie and then a Silver Sable/Black Cat movie, meaning there’s going to be that universe, the Mile Morales animated universe and the MCU with Tom Holland’s Spider-man. That’s a lot of Spidey happening…

UNTITLED MILES MORALES ANIMATED SPIDER-MAN (December 21, 2018 release)

From Phil Lord & Christopher Miller, the geniuses behind THE LEGO MOVIE, comes an animated SPIDER-MAN feature starring Miles Morales.

The feature is directed by Bob Persichetti (head of story on PUSS IN BOOTS and THE LITTLE PRINCE) and Peter Ramsey (RISE OF THE GUARDIANS). The film is written by Phil Lord. Avi Arad (IRON MAN, SPIDER-MAN), Amy Pascal (SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING), Phil Lord & Christopher Miller (Untitled HAN SOLO Movie) are executive producing; Christina Steinberg (TROLLHUNTERS) is producing.
