With all eyes looking to Venom in October, many are wondering if Sony have what it takes to pull off their own Marvel Cinematic universe of sorts, but no matter what people think, Sony are dreaming big.
It has been revealed that The Equalizer 2 writer Richard Wenk is working on a Kraven the Hunter movie to further expand the universe which will feature characters such as Venom, Morbius, Silk and many more.
Interestingly, it was reported last year that Sony planned on making movies based on Kraven and Mysterio…however Jake Gyllenhal is rumoured to be playing Mysterio in Spider-man: Far From Home.
But, Kraven in moving ahead.
Sergei Kravinoff AKA Kraven the Hunter is one of Spider-Man’s main rogues gallery and is half-brother of the Chameleon, however, Kraven is known for hunting big game, but Spider-Man has always, in the comics, been his Moby Dick, so to speak.
So what will he hunt in the Sony universe? Well, we do know that Spider-man is part of Sony’s plans for their universe, with their hopes being that they and Disney can work out a way where they both utilise Tom Holland’s Spidey, so maybe he will be Kraven’s big game… failing that, we could imagine it being Venom or another character.
Of course all this depends on how well Tom Holland’s Venom does at the boxoffice…
