Get ready for the new daily show

Sony still open to Spider-man in the MCU but they have a few terms?

After the news a few days ago that Tom Holland may have filmed a scene for Venom that was never used, it seems Sony have a very particular set of requests if Marvel are to get Spidey back in the MCU.

A new report has it that Sony and Disney will meet one more time next week to try and reach an agreement over the web-head, one last ditch attempt, if you will

But is seems Sony has already put out what they want from Marvel in return. And essentially, it’s letting their Venom-verse into the MCU too, albeit via a back door.

“They [Sony] want Tom Holland to appear in Venom 2 – or Venom 3 – even if Marvel Studios takes back control of his solo films. This agreement would also extend to any of their other Marvel-related movies they want Peter Parker to be a part of. So, for instance, Spidey could show up in Sony’s Kraven the Hunter film as well.”

This would mean that Holland would float between the two studios playing the same character in both universes so, as said above, it would mean that Venom, Spider-verse, Kraven, Morbius and the others would become extended corners of the MCU – so, let’s be honest, something similar to the world that the Netflix shows inhabit… part of/not part of the MCU.

Now, it’s hard to not believe that this is what Sony have wanted all along as we have speculated several times (here)

As well as this, Sony is apparently also looking for MCU to make a deal wherein they will have access to some of the MCU heroes for their movies.

Will Disney agree? Unlikely as it would mean that two will become one – something Marvel seem to have wanted to avoid all along.

But it does seem that there’s more to come in the story of Spider-man in the MCU yet.

Thoughts?
