Yesterday we had an Italian magazine revealing that Spider-man would be in Avengers: Infinity War (here) and today we have a French magazine revealing the villain – or one of the villains – in the Wonder Woman movie coming this June.

The magazine also shared new behind the scenes images which you can see below.

Ok, so the main story, French magazine Studio Ciné Live interviewed Wonder Woman star Chris Pine and chatted to him about the movie and the plot and in his description he gives some very cool info, including the appearance of a major Wonder Woman villain in the movie: “I play a pilot who works for the Allies and spies on the Germans without their knowledge. My character steals a notebook filled with scientific formulas in an Ottoman base, he steals a plane but is shot down in the open sea.”

Pine then goes on to say: “Behind these scientific formulas, there is a deadly gas that could well annihilate humanity. It turns out that it might interest Ares, the god of war. He is jealous of humanity, which is a creation of his father, the deceased Zeus (the Amazons and Zeus rebelled against Ares and Zeus died from the hand of his son)…”

(continues after pic of Ares as he appears in the comics)

When Man of Steel was released it just went straight into the idea that there are aliens in the universe, BvS just went straight into the idea that there are meta-humans and Suicide Squad introduced magic and alternate dimensions, so it looks like Winder Woman is introducing the realm of gods and monsters without batting an eyelid too.

And that’s awesome. We’ve heard Diana say in the first trailer from SDCC last year that she had no father and was “brought to life by Zeus” (watch it here) so it looks like gods will simply be a part of the world here.

What do you think of the images and villain reveal?

Let us know…

Wonder Woman arrives on June 2nd.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
