STAR WARS RUMOURS! Simon Pegg denies involvement (that was fast) Cuaron set for directing duties?!

February 27th, 2013 by Marc Comments

Wow, the Star Wars rumours are coming in so fast now that they are debunked before they even make the sites!

The latest such rumour broke a few hours ago with rumours that self confessed Star Wars freak, JJ Abrams buddy and current Scotty on the Enterprise Simon Pegg – yes, we love him too – would be involved in the new trilogy. Honestly, we’ve taken this as a given anyway. However, Pegg himself has denied the rumours, very swiftly we might add and tweeted: ‘No idea where this silly rumour about me attached to the new Star Wars film came from but I can confirm that it’s absolute Bantha poodoo.’

Hmmmmmmmm… ok, we’ll buy it. For now, but we’ll bet a stack of Republic Credits there’s truth to this. Somewhere.

Anyway, a more interesting and as yet undenied rumour, is that Children Of Men and Harry Potter And The Prisoner of Azkaban director Alfonso Cuaron is set to direct either Episode VIII or IX.

We know, we know, it’s all rumour but these ones kinda feel, well, right. Take with a pinch of salt for now, but as always, watch this space…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
