It seems that the James Gunn saga at Disney has finally come to a close as production on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 has been reportedly halted indefinitely.
According to reports “crewmembers, who were assembling for preproduction, are being dismissed and are free to look for new work.”
It seems that Disney and Marvel are shelving the movie as they begin re-assessing what will happen in the future with the franchise.
Gunn, before being dismissed over historic tweets, had handed in his script for the movie to Disney with producioin looking to begin towards the and of this year.
But not anymore.
Reports state that Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi recently had a meeting with Marvel, but it is unclear for what project, despite him being the current fans’ favourites to bring the Guardians back if Gunn isn’t returning.
Disney had no comment on these rumours.
