So last night we reported that DC/Warner Bros were talking to three potential directors for The Flash (here).
and they were big names – firstly we had Back To the Future director Robert Zemeckis, next we had Spider-man and Evil Dead director Sam Raimi and finally Kick-Ass and X-Men: First Class’s Matthew Vaughn.
Now however it seems that list is already shortened (and another name that we didn’t even know was attached is now also out of the running).
Collider are reporting that Spider-man 1-3 director Raimi is definitely out of the running already (although no reason why) and, coincidentally as he directed Amazing Spider-man 1&2, it seems that Marc Webb is also out.
Also, as a funny side note, uber-nerd and FTN favourite Kevin Smith seems confident he knows someone who would direct:
I know of at least one Director who wouldn’t pass. (But to be fair, he’s more of a “director” than a Director…) https://t.co/LIyTI6gRu0

We’re quietly confident that Smith is pointing to himself although he’s more having fun than being serious – although, having directed episodes of The Flash and Supergirl and being such a big fan of comics, Smith might not be a bad idea to have involved in the DC Cinematic Universe in some way.
Finally, several places have been reporting that Billy Crudup (below) has left The Flash movie as Henry Allen, Barry (AKA Flash) Allen’s dad, but this is not true at all as reported here.
While there’s no release date for the movie yet, we’re confident whoever directs it, it’ll be here as quick as a… well, you know the rest.
