It’s not too often Joe and anthony Russo, the brothers behind Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Civil War and Marvel’s new golden boys, make a mistake…
And, to be honest, we don’t think we’re seeing it here either… despite the ruse.
During an event at the Smithsonian Institute, according to comicbook, the brothers were talking about their next project at Marvel, Infinity War (more on that in a minute), when thy seemingly accidentally mentioned the involvement of Captain Marvel.
“did you just confirm Captain Marvel?!” asked one eagle-eared fan and they got “Um….Captain Barvel. Totally different character.”
Phew, close call.
So it looks like we’ll be seeing Carol Danvers in the fight against Thanos. Cool beans, indeed.
As for the title of the two-part Avengers Infinity War, it seems the name is set for an upheaval.
Speaking to Uproxx, the Russos said of Infinity War Part I and Part II: “The movies are two very different movies,” said Joe.
Anthony went on to say the link between the movies is ‘misleading’ as they won’t play out as one big story as most sequels do: “It is misleading. The intention is we will change it, we just haven’t come up with the titles yet. But, yes, we will change it. And, yes, that is a scoop: we will retitle them.”
So they will have new titles? Wonder what this will mean for the stories? Hmmmmmmm…
