A few days ago we posted this image of the Mega Zord from the new Power Rangers movie and, frankly, everyone was a bit bemused because it was nothing like we expected…

Well, now we have a look at the separate vehicles/animals that the Rangers pilot and that form the Zord and they are, well, they are… different.

The pictures below are of the movie’s toy line from Bandai and features:

Tyrannosaurus Rex – Piloted by Jason the Red Ranger
Triceratrops – Piloted by Billy the Blue Ranger
Mastodon – Piloted by Zack the Black Ranger
Sabertooth Tiger – Piloted by Trini the Yellow Ranger
Pteroadactyl – Piloted by Kimberly the Pink Ranger

The Battle Zord toys each feature 2″ Ranger figurines, as well as action roleplay such as missile-firing ability. Fans who purchase all five will be able to combine the Battle Zords into a towering 2 foot tall Megazord!

The Zords seem very influenced by the Transformers from the Bay movies to us, with a bizarre organic look to them. Once again we ask, what do you all think?

Power Rangers smashes into cinemas on March 24th, 2017.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
